Gathering just outside Hahndorf, a small and famous German settled village in the Adelaide hills,
the working document for the 2026 Synod was agreed by the members and will now be passed to Archbishop Patrick O’Regan to decree and, later, to be implemented.

All five Synod themes were assented to by the members (done by a colourful showing of yellow cards for agreement and the occasional blue where a touch uncertain) over the course of about six hours.

The second, and final, session of the Synod was the culmination of more than 12 months ongoing work within the Archdiocese and will help map out the future direction of the Church locally.
