The 2021 Diocesan Assembly had two primary aims:
1) To begin to develop a new vision for our diocese.
The Diocesan Assembly gave us the opportunity to discuss the variety of experiences, challenges and opportunities of the life of our local church. Out of these discussions we will begin to form a new vision for the work and mission of the diocese for years to come.
The Diocesan Assembly will also launch a new Diocesan Pastoral Council.
2) To prepare for the Plenary Council in October.
We have seven delegates from the archdiocese who participated in the Plenary Council. The Diocesan Assembly helped to prepare them to represent the people of our diocese. Much of what we discussed at the Diocesan Assembly was built upon the the preparations for the Plenary Council. To learn more about the Plenary Council, visit www.plenarycouncil.catholic.org.au
